7 Months

Amelia has been crawling all over the house....down halls...into rooms...she definitely has the hang of it now. She is still trying to climb up on her packages to get to the Christmas tree (even though we have it barricaded) in addition to trying to climb up on any and everything...including Lola. :) She pulls the drawers open in our kitchen, tries to pull up on them as well until she realizes they move when she tries to do so. So, she settles for grinding her tooth (yes, she still only has the 1 tooth) on the knob. Ummmmmm not the best sound in the world.
She is saying DaDa and Daddeee :) Once she saw how much of a reaction she got from saying it...she proceeded to say it all night and all the next day, "Dadda dadda dadda.." She just said daddeee for the first time last night. It is so sweet and amazing.
She just went on a road trip with Mommy to Dallas last weekend to see Aunt Chelsea, Aunt Becca, Aunt Randa and Aunt Melissa. Again...she was so many Aunts for having a Mommy with no siblings :)

She seems pretty excited about Christmas...at least she is about the lights on the tree and packages underneath. No doubt this will be a wonderful Christmas.

6 Months Old

Hello All!

Amelia is a busy busy little gal these days on the go go go. She is growing up too fast that is for sure. She was 19.10 lbs last Dr. visit and prescribed Amoxicillin for her first sinus/middle ear infection....bless her heart. However, it doesn't keep this little gal down. She is busy with sitting up from a crawl position back to a crawl position, crawling (her own little unique technique of knee knee lunge, knee knee lunge) all over the place. She particularly likes to "crawl" towards anything she isn't supposed to have. All these toys are around....yet she would rather have the remote, laptop, etc. So, Daddy gave her a broken remote and keyboard not in use for her to have as her very own...although she likes to try and eat them rather than push buttons. She is now, thanks to MiMi, drinking from a free flow sippy cup (getting half in her mouth and half all over her :) It is hilarious. Oh, and for some reason she feels the need to try to stand...hence the video below. She used to raise her arms to be picked up...now she raises her arms...and when you are trying to pick her up...she grabs on to your hands to pull herself up. Did I mention she is growing up too fast? I want to snuggle her and she wants to go go go . lol.

Amelia's first tooth has broken through making her even more of a drool monster that mouths everything she comes in contact with. BTW...she dislikes the taste of Ora-gel very much! She does the whole body shudder when you rub it on her gums. LOL.
She is just so much fun and we are beaming with happiness :)

Still 5 months

Little gal went to the pumpkin patch and had a blast! Although it certainly took it out of her....all that hunting for the perfect pumpkin...she certainly passed smooth out afterward. Maybe it was the rocking on all fours that she is doing now that wore her out. She gets up and rocks a little and splats back down..even throwing in a sigh now and then :) She gives up with the moving forward and goes backwards all over the place ha ha ha.

She had a big weekend this past weekend going with Mommy to Dallas to see Aunt Randa, Sydnie and Gillian. She is fascinated with Gillian and smiles and laughs at her. They played so cute together!!! We all went to the zoo (which she could care less about hehehhe) and it was still a good time. Then she got her pictures made with the girls as well (all in the same day....what were we thinking?)which turned out adorable. She also got to see Mommy's Godparents...her God Grandparents Toni and Rod again as well as her Aunt Melissa. (Aunt Rebecca came to visit her last week and Aunt Chels and Uncle Nathan will be in this weekend coming up). WHEW, for her Mommy being an only child and Daddy only having 1 sibling, Amelia sure does have a lot of Aunts and Uncles!!!!! LOL.

Pictures of this past weekend to post this evening.....

5 months

I almost let it get to 6 months before posting!! Things are going really well with our little growing gal. At her 5 month appointment she weighed 17.8lbs and is eating very hardily as always lol. She is now eating 3 meals a day and 4 six-seven ounce bottles a day as well. Surprisingly, she isn't too too keen on bananas (she will eat them but is indifferent) but seems to love everything else....prunes, sweet potatoes and green beans still being her favorites.

Little Amelia started rolling over last month front to back, back to front but has now taken it to the next level by choosing to roll all over the place as her means of travel. She wants to crawl badly but can't, therefore, she swims and gets frustrated she isn't going anywhere. lol She has also improved her sitting from the end of last month and is no longer slumping forward as she sits...yet can't be left by herself because she tends to lean and tip over eventually.

Her main entertainment other the new spitty tongue thing she has learned and will constantly do for 10 minute stretches drenching her shirt and face all-the-while lol, is the dogs. She stares and laughs and laughs at them (esp Lola who we currently have in obedience school).

She has learned a new trick of putting her foot in her mouth without even being a how to talk yet!!!! lol. She definitely learned that from her Daddy! hehehhe

She is fascinated with and determinedly tries to grab telephones, computers and remotes (although I think putting them in her mouth is her main objective...which I HOPE she didn't learn from her Daddy). hehehehhe

What else....oh...she LOVES story time (although again, eating the book is more interesting than the content) and gets 2 stories during the day with Mimi and after bath and before bed every night. She is still doing well with going to bed at night (7:15 ish) and is a good little sleeper.

More updates soon,

4 months old!

Hello All!

Amelia is growing so fast, learning so much and is so much fun! At her 4 month pediatrician appointment she weighed 15.8 lbs, was 25.5 inches long and got a whole mess of shots. :( She has started eating solids (cereal first followed by Oatmeal, Squash, Peas, Prunes, Carrots, Green Beans and now Applesauce). We tried each solid for 3 days! She really didn’t seem to care for Squash or carrots, as we will try them again at a later date. Prunes and Green Beans seem to be her favorite so far. She still LOVES her bottle (as she still drinks 30-35 oz per day…will be hard to reduce when it comes to that) She is such a fiend for her bottle we have to hide it while feeding her solids or she will throw herself at it lol. Once the bottle is in her possession she can hold it on her own as long as she is lying down.

She is also starting to laugh more and more and it is hilarious! She will lay on Daddy’s chest and he will raise his head up and say Ahhchooo at her face…she will giggle and giggle Also, yesterday I brought her exersaucer out on the back patio to hang outside while I sat next to her throwing the ball for the dogs. Well, every time Aria would bring the tennis ball to me she would laugh so hard and I would laugh so hard at her. It was so much fun! I even made phone calls to let people hear. What a happy baby she is :).

Her Mimi, Brent, and I have working diligently on getting her to reach for out for you to pick her up and she is starting to catch on quite well. We are trying the wave now…not too interested lol.

She has been turning her little self over these days but she was keeping it from us. She seemed to only do this while in her crib or while doing tummy time and we have to remember….did I put her on her tummy or back…hmmmm. But she has finally been caught :)

She enjoys stroller time esp since she has graduated to big girl stroller instead of car seat snapped into the stroller. So instead of being forced to look at Mommy, she can now look at everything around her and she certainly takes it all in.

Also, for being a 4month old child (almost 5 months I guess) she enjoys story time. The other night before bed I was reading her a story and she sat there contently looking at the pages while chewing on her hand. Well, when I finished, she started to fuss and so I read another story and she sat there contently watching each page for that one too. Amazing .

Everyday is something new and fun and I tell ya….Brent and I are madly in love with this little gal :)
